6) Arc Welding Under 50m of Water

Web EP created winter 2005 in the Pink Tank (and a little bit in the Pie Loft too), Armidale NSW Australia. Created for the Arconic Project, and any willing ARC DJ.

Arc is a type of music where many songs are sonically welded together at once during performance without regard to tempo matching or key matching. The intention of the "dj" is to create a soundfield that immerses the listener in alien worlds in order to encourage consciousness development. Some people call these mashups, but we only found that out later on.

These pieces are designed to be 'slow tension builders' to be played with many other songs going at the same time. However, if you are up to listening to strange sounds very closely in a reflective state, then this stuff could work.

This study of the future researched and presented by associate professor mr_mark_dollin. All sounds generated and manipulated my mr_mark_dollin, except the voices in Track 6, a discursive discussion by Dr. Jarrad Cousin.
