Spring Party at Woodpark

Bloody Hippie

With enough sound equipment to flatten an old wooden veranda, enough wood to make a police-attracting bonfire, and enough pizza to make the thinnest of alternative creatures bulge, the party at Woodpark last Saturday the 28th was intense in every regard. With a very similar “hi-quality” setup to the last Arc gig, the loose and sometimes wobbly jam went right past midnight. Some of the highlights included Iain’s ‘as tight as ever’ drumming, Ash on the MicroKorg and BJ doing his smooth hiphop MC work. Perhaps not as enthusiastic crowd as I hoped for.

After midnight I came to realise that dew is a very real problem with playing outside with delicate computer equipment. That, alongside people I cannot trust under the influence of unknown substances, has become a deterrent against doing such gigs again in the future. I’m fairly sure I’ve a few cables missing. My faith in humankind was further diminished when I got home late to find my pushbike had been stolen. I’m quite ready to give up the music scene for a little bit to concentrate on studio composition.

In other more positive news, Phoebe is receiving some positive attention.
